What
is Equine Massage & Muscle Therapy?
Massage / muscle therapy is the manipulation of soft tissue to achieve
specific goals of drainage, relaxation or stimulation and to release and
reduce muscle-related compromise such as trigger points and stress
points. The healing function of massage therapy accelerates recovery
from injury and it contributes to the overall economy of the body and to
its ability to function efficiently and healthfully.
How It Will Benefit Your Horse?
Contemporary equines are athletes and they are expected to perform at
their maximum potential - to run faster, jump higher and to execute
technically difficult maneuvers. Pleasure horse, eventers, equitation,
hunter/jumpers, dressage – all impose their own physical demands upon
our horses. Unfortunately, such demands ultimately result in pain,
injury and behavior issues in our prematurely worn-out horses. Drug
therapy is useful, but over time may have negative side effects.
Massage
and muscle therapy is used as part of a holistic approach to preserve
the well-being of your horse so that he can deliver his best performance
for you and more importantly, to enhance your relationship with your
equine companion.
